Thanks to Radmeters.com For Donation of RF Detector

Ban Smart Meters would like to thank the kind and generous folks at RadMeters.com for their unsolicited donation of an RF detector that allows us to make the invisible radiation emitted by smart meters into something visible.

RadMeters.com asked for nothing in return for their donation.

After recently receiving the Cornet ED25G from RadMeters.com, we have been measuring everything–microwaves, cell phones, and, of course, the smart meters.

We hope to be able to produce some videos showing the results of various measurements and also to design smart meter shields that completely block all wireless transmissions from the meter.  We are lucky enough to have access to a smart meter that is not attached to a wall, so it can be completely wrapped with whatever material needs testing.

At this point, we can say that the heavy foil roasting pans, two layers thick and completely wrapped around the meter do NOT completely block the signal.  Even with the nearest meter being 400-500 feet away, the utility company is still getting a reading for the monthly bill and the detector still shows spiked pulses every 5-7 seconds.
